Unhealthy Mold Problem in Pleasant Prairie, WI

These homeowners in Pleasant Prairie, WI had previously finished their basement with drywall. A few years after they finished the basement, it flooded and they had about two feet of standing water. After getting all of the water out and drying everything out, they realized that there was a lot of mold growing on the drywall and wood studs.

Having all of that mold in their home was causing health problems for their family. One of their children had really bad asthma problems and breathing in mold spores was not helping that at all. They called us here at Buck Buckley's Total Basement Finishing and set up a free estimate with one of our design specialists. They fell in love with our products and couldn't wait to get their basement project started. They started to rip out all of the damaged and moldy drywall and wood studs to get it ready for the project and discovered that their foundation wall had a crack in it. 

Solution

The homeowners called us in a panic to see if fixing the cracked foundation walls was something that we could add to the basement project. Unfortunately, fixing cracked foundation walls is not something that our company does, however, we were able to refer them to our sister company Badger Basements! They set up an appointment with Badger Basements, and they were able to have the crack in their foundation wall at an affordable price! Once the crack in the foundation wall is fixed, then we will be able to start their basement project with our moisture and mold resistant products. Now, this family will never have to worry about whether the space is a healthy enough environment for the family to spend time together in!
